I have over 40 years of Municipal Sector experience serving at the highest levels of Executive Leadership. I retired in December 2020 as the City of Torrance Community Services Director and possess a great deal of passion for this profession. With my years of experience, energy and enthusiasm, I am uniquely positioned to share my professional observation; assist municipal agencies assess or review their organizational structure; provide professional development for your staff team; and/or assist in providing Parks Master Planning and Strategic Planning Services. I am happy to entertain any project that may assist your Recreation or Community Services Department grow into this new and exciting paradigm of public sector services.

As the Community Services Director I was responsible for a $28M Operating Budget and $10M CIP Budget. I provided oversight of five (5) Management Divisions that consisted of 165 FT employees and 500 PT employees, within the Administrative, Cultural, Library, Parks, and Recreation Services Divisions. Our dedicated and highly professional Management Team collaborated to provide full in-house services to our 148,000 Torrance residents.

As the Recreation Services Manager I was responsible for a $6M Operating Budget and provided oversight to 18 FT employees and 300 PT employees. Within this position I was responsible to provide full recreation services to our Torrance residents. Additionally, I was fortunate to have been assigned to be the Project Manager role for the design and construction of the Madrona Marsh Nature Center, and the Dee Hardison Sports Complex.
